Projection Artworks and Holotronica walked the red carpet this year, as Shudu, the worlds first ‘digital supermodel’ joined stars of stage and screen at the British Academy Film Awards. Shudu is a combination of CGI, AI, and superfast 5G brought by the EE network. As a digital supermodel, Shudu instantly trended as one of the most beautiful models on Instagram. But she is more than just a pretty face. Hologauze® was chosen buy Projection Artworks to bring her to life as an interactive hologram in the real world.
Shudu is not only beautiful, but she is able to capture images using Google Pixel 3. On the night of the BAFTA’s she captured photographs of stars clothing. She then scanned through similar outfit options online to offer users at home a cheaper alternative of the same style. With only 15 milliseconds latency on the night, Shudu chatted with actresses and film royalty with ease. This trial was first of its kind for EE to showcase its new 5G network. Choosing to demonstrate 5G with a live interactive holographic model was an ambitious option, but Shudu made it look easy.
The Shudu project incorporated state of the art technology into every aspect of its build and execution.
